Rose City Baby was born from my belief that a thriving healthy community starts with a healthy family.   My patient-centered care provides individualized treatments that are tailored to address what matters to you.

I believe in nourishing families from the inside out and forming long lasting relationships based in trust,

mindfulness and empowerment.

I combine the ancient wisdom of Chinese Medicine with evidence-based research to create comprehensive treatments that nourish balance and restore health.

My love for the natural world is expressed through my work with herbs, essential oils, crystals and healing sounds.  I provide a gentle, authentic, holistic care for the whole family with an emphasis on

pregnancy, postpartum and pediatrics.

My Story-

Hey there!   I am Sivan Dirks; an Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Qi gong practitioner, inspired birth supporter (becoming a Doula in the near future) and Mom to two amazing human beings who teach me what life is all about everyday!

As an acupuncturist, I aspire to care for the whole individual in a gentle and mindful presence that aligns with each individual's goals and expectations.  I believe health and illness are dynamic, complex states that are unique to each individual.   Wellness is a reflection of the whole person, body/mind/spirit.  What we eat, how we sleep, our activity and rest levels, how we react to stress and the world around us are all part of the journey that reflects on our well-being.  Health is more then just the absence of illness.  A healthy life is a life lived to each individual’s potentials. That potential is an internal connection to the vital force within us that nourishes us to feel self worth and be our true authentic self.  Through acupuncture, herbs, qigong and other Eastern modalities, I hope to reestablish that connection and restore harmony , balance and preservation to the person as a whole.  I wish to empower people to take an active role in their own healing process and understand what keeps them strong and vibrant.

There is nothing better than starting a life on the best possible foot and the womb is where it all begins.  I first became interested in acupuncture maternal health through my own journey of becoming a mom.  Just like every mother, I wanted nothing more than the very best for me and my baby.  I found acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to be the perfect match to support both of us through a healthy pregnancy and birth.  Even though I did not get to experience my first birth as I wished for, I was fortunate to have this gentle, safe and effective medicine by my side to help me recover and foster the healing I needed in a natural way.

I feel passionate about sharing this beautiful, time tested wisdom with other women, their families & their health care providers,  enabling them to benefit from this powerful yet simple medicine.  Creating a life is sacred and I feel honored to become part of the helping hands that nourish and support those beautiful times and beyond.  Mothers are the nourishing vital force that is the foundation of every thriving community.

Now as a mom of two, I continued to deepen my understanding and knowledge of treating children with acupuncture & Chinese medicine.  According to Chinese Medicine, children are naturally out of balance as their body, mind and spirit are constantly growing, developing and changing.  Therefore they are more vulnerable to illness and stress.  Acupuncture offers a great way to naturally strengthen the immune system, support digestion for optimal nutrient absorption and can help avoid or reduce the use of medications.

It is an honor and a pleasure working with children and their families.  Being able to help a child grow to be healthy and happy is truly a gift to my practice.  I value connection and thrive to develop mutual relationship with both the child and their parents.  I believe that engaging children as dynamic partners in their health and well-being is a gift that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. They will grow up with the knowledge that there are many ways in which they can take care of themselves.  I will never forget the look on my son's face when I told him that his body can heal itself.  A seed was planted .  My aspiration is to help kids heal naturally through the focus of treating the whole child and addressing not just the symptoms but also the root cause.

In my free time I love being outdoors among the trees, mountains, rivers and ocean, collecting crystals, reading books on philosophy, Chinese medicine, behavioral science, essential oils, everything about birth, pregnancy, postpartum and holistic pediatric care. I consider myself the forever student and constantly explore old and new way of being and understanding myself, others and the would around us.
